Settlement is the final stage in the conveyancing transaction & once complete, keys are released. Settlement dates & times are important in planning your move, we need to ensure your furniture is moved in time for the next owners and also to meet the settlement time of your new home. You need to factor in time for cleaning after/before your move.
As there are several parties involved, delays are common, esp for double property settlements (you are signing contracts on the same day for selling AND buying). If you choose to move on settlement day & there are delays, you will be charged for the time the removalists are kept waiting. If your move has been quoted at a fixed price, the quote will not be valid.
We suggest you allow at least several hours after the nominated time for settlement, and preferably a day, before you move, ie when buying move in the day after settlement and if selling move out the day before settlement.
In the lead up to your move please keep EJ Shaw Removals & Storage informed of any time changes with the settlement.
